Doyle is a Unseelie sidhe (fey) character from Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series. He was the Queen's Captain for over a thousand years and is referred to as "Darkness" or "the Queen's Darkness" because of some of his magical abilities and the more superficial observation that his skin is black (but not from Africa "black" more like the color of the sky at midnight black).

You are the strength, that keeps me walking.
You are the hope, that keeps me trusting.

You really can't get a better Doyle than that! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for doing him by hand and not taking a picture of an African American and saying that's how he should look. I'd understand if Laurell discribed him as looking that way, but nowhere does it suggest that he was from anywhere but Europe, it's just plain fact. You did a wonderful job!

Just as I pictured, thanks for the visual.
